When I first started to make this project I had little to no knowledge about the subject, all I knew was that eager to learn more about my culture and it’s history. Other than learning the history of every component of Carnaval I also learned new skills during the product making process. My first idea was to sew an actual costume, but due to time inconveniences, I was unable to do so. My other option was to make a painting of it, which is exactly what I did, painting was a great alternative because I do have a really big love for art and making art even though I might not be the best at it. The problem of painting this costume was the lack of painting skills I had, even more, that the costume requires a lot of detailing in order for it to look pleasant. Carnival costumes are mainly made of feathers, so I did some research on how to paint feathers, I watched a couple of tutorials and applied some of the knowledge gathered from them into the painting. The whole point of my project was to design and paint an original Carnival costume, the only problem was that I have absolutely no experience in designing any sort of clothing, I am not super creative when it comes to creating my own thing, so I looked for some inspiration, it definitely helped me to have an idea of what I was going for, so I could start sketching.
